P1 W1MAX CONTINUES RAMPING UP COVERAGE IN THE KLANG
VALLEY

KUALA LUMPUR - Packet One Networks (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd.
(P1), the first Malaysian WiMAX converged telco and subsidiary of Green Packet Berhad,
has announced new areas of coverage in Klang Valley for its P1 W1MAX services.
This follows closely on its 28 November announcement of P1 W1MAX’ availability in
the state of Johor. P1 W1MAX was first launched in Kuala Lumpur back in August,
and the announcement of P1 being a leading WiMAX provider for the Wireless@Penang
initiative was made in September. P1 will cover Penang and additional areas in Johor
beginning in 2009.

Areas in the Klang Valley covered by P1 W1MAX in today’s announcement include Taman
Sentul Jaya, Taman Datuk Senu, Bandar Baru Sentul (all three in Sentul), Taman Air
Panas and Danau Kota in Setapak, Taman Sri Rampai in Wangsa Maju, Taman Bukit Maluri,
Bandar Menjalara, Subang Hi-Tech Park, Subang Jaya and Subang USJ.
Additional areas of coverage include Klang, namely Taman Bunga Melor, Taman Botanic,
Bukit Tinggi, Taman Perindustrian Pandamaran, Taman Chi Liung, Jalan Bukit Kuda,
Port Klang’s town centre, Taman Selatan, and Taman Emas.
Other areas with P1 W1MAX coverage in today’s announcement include SS3, Paramount
Garden and Sungei Way SS9, all in Petaling Jaya, Bangsar’s Telawi area, Kampung
Baru in Kuala Lumpur, selected parts of KL’s city centre including Jalan Chan Sow
Lin and Jalan Peel, Taman Bamboo in Segambut, the Crystal Crown area in Jinjang
and Taman Lawa, both in Jinjang.
P1 W1MAX’ promotional subscription starts at RM89 monthly for the 1.2Mbps package
and RM199 for the 2.4Mbps package. For a limited time only, the RM999 modem will
be given out free to every new subscriber.
For the promotional subscriptions above, customers can also sign up without paying
a single sen, as the registration fee will be charged in the first monthly bill.
"Today’s announcement is a continuous and steady fulfillment of P1’s commitment
in expanding the coverage of its WiMAX services nationwide, as we do our part in
helping Malaysia reach 50% in broadband penetration by 2010," CEO of P1, Michael
Lai informed.
"With the PIKOM PC Fair 2008 from 12 to 14 December in KL Convention Centre,
and from 19 to 21 December in Johor Bharu, we’re continuing our series of roadshows
in the new areas of coverage in order to go on the ground to educate consumers on
the benefits and advantages of P1 W1MAX," Lai added.
P1 W1MAX is also being jointly promoted by Intel Malaysia, at the upcoming PIKOM
PC Fair 2008 this weekend. Consumers who purchase Intel-powered desktops or notebooks
powered by either Intel® Core™ i7 processor, Intel® Core™ 2 Quad processor,
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor, Intel® Centrino® 2 processor technology
or Intel® Centrino® processor technology and subscribe to P1 W1MAX, they
would receive a complimentary three-month P1 W1MAX subscription and RM100 worth
of gift items. Those who purchase a lower specification with the Intel Pentium®
Dual Core processor would receive a free 1-month P1 W1MAX subscription. Buyers of
these systems will be subject to additional terms and conditions, in order to be
eligible for the complimentary P1 W1MAX packages.
