| PETALING JAYA -
With the festive spirit of Syawal just around the corner and Packet One Networks (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd ("P1")’s fourth anniversary celebration, a team of employees from the company embraced the spirit of giving with a donation of food and beverage items to the residents of Pusat Penjagaan Kanak-Kanak Cacat Taman Megah (PPKKCTM) and six underprivileged families in Petaling Jaya.
In addition to contributing food and beverage items, the Club’s jammers from the P1 Sports and Social Club dubbed P1 Broadband entertained the home in PKKCTM with popular numbers. PPKKCTM was founded by S.K. Manikumar in 1997 and provides services to approximately 160 multi-racial, physically disabled residents, whose ages range from one month to 55 years old.
Spreading the festive cheer further, the company’s Badan Islam Greenpacket also collected basic household necessities such as rice, cooking oil, flour, sugar, biscuits and other items for six underprivileged families located in Puchong, Kampung Melayu Subang and Subang Permai in Shah Alam. A group of 12 employees visited the homes with the goodies and also handed a cash token of RM400 to each family.
Michael Lai, Chief Executive Officer of P1 said, "As P1 continuously provides Malaysians with better 4G and fibre broadband services to consumers and businesses, we also believe in giving back to the local community. With our fourth anniversary on the 19 of August that coincides with the Hari Raya celebrations, it’s an appropriate time to share some cheer with the needy during this festive spirit."
"We are grateful for the opportunity given by PPKKCTM and the six families to be a part of their lives. We hope that that our humble contribution will brighten up their festive celebration," Lai added.
